Does ChatGPT recommend you?

Your clients have stopped scrolling through ten blue links. They ask an assistant who to call and they get one answer with about three names in it. You are in that answer or you are not.

Tell us your business, your city, and what you do. We run the questions a real client would type across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode, then send you what came back: whether you were named, who was named instead, and which sources the machines quoted.

Business name exactly as it appears on their own site.
City the queries are run against.
In client words, e.g. "criminal", "family", "plumbing". One per check.
{# Hand them the receipt before they trust ours. Someone who has already seen a competitor's name where theirs should be arrives convinced. #}

Check it yourself first. Take thirty seconds.

Do not take our word for any of this. Open ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity in a fresh chat and send these two messages, in this order. Fill in the form above and they will fill themselves in.

Message 1 · what a customer types
I need a [WHAT YOU DO] in [YOUR CITY], Ontario. Who should I call?
Message 2 · send after it answers
Which websites did you use to answer that? List the addresses.

The first message is deliberately plain, because that is what a real customer sends. The second one gets you the receipt. Read the two answers for three things:

  • Is your business named at all?
  • Whose names came up instead?
  • Is your own website anywhere in that list of sources? For most businesses we check, it is not.

Use a fresh or logged-out chat. If you have asked that assistant about your own business before, it remembers, and you will get a flattering answer that no stranger would ever see.

That one question is the first of three we run, across all five assistants, for fifteen answers in total. Run it yourself now anyway. If your name comes up first every time, you do not need us and you have lost thirty seconds.

What you get back

  • How many of the fifteen answers named you
  • The businesses that came up instead, ranked by how often
  • The sources the assistants quoted, and how many times your own site was one of them
  • Anything the machines get factually wrong about you

Why is this free?

Because the result usually makes the argument for me. If five assistants name your competitors and not you, you already know there is work to do, and you know who to call. If they name you, you keep the report and I have lost an hour. Either way it is yours, and there is no sales call attached to it.

One check per business per month. Give us a couple of working days.

Where this came from

Ahrefs measured a 58% drop in clicks to the top-ranking result between December 2023 and December 2025. A separate audit of the legal market found seven directories own the citations that AI assistants quote, with firm websites underneath all of them. We wrote the whole argument up in You Can Rank #1 and Still Lose the Client.
